CFP: deadline extended for ALA Annual Discussion group proposals

CFP: deadline extended for ALA Annual Discussion group proposals

The deadline for proposals for the Instruction Section Discussion Group has been extended to November 15th. Please take time out of your busy schedule to send us a proposal for a discussion group. These discussions are always very successful, feedback is overwhelmingly positive, and the experience does help your career so join the cadre of lauded discussion leaders.

Recent topics have included preparing students to transition to college, the academic library’s role in supporting undergraduate researchers, and teaching students through experiential research. A complete list of past topics can be found at http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/acrl/about/sections/is/eventsconferences/discforumdigests.cfm.

Don’t see your current focus on the list? Now you have a chance to convene a discussion about the instruction-related topic you’re most passionate about! The IS Discussion Group Steering Committee needs your proposal for discussion groups to be held at ALA's Annual Conference in New Orleans next year.

The call for Proposals is up at:
http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/acrl/about/sections/is/committees/discussiongroup.cfm

Or you can download the document directly:

Contact us, the committee co-chairs Liz Evans (eevans@pointpark.edu) or Kate Gronemyer (Kate.Gronemyer@osucascades.edu] with any questions and please get those proposals to us ASAP.
